Nocturne is the tool that puts whoever is looking for a bed in touch with whoever offers one. The yearly contribution pays to keep that tool running. Everything else happens between two people, and we are not there.
The contribution is €36 a year and it buys access to the platform: finding who is hosting, asking for a place to stay as often as you want, writing to other people, opening your own room, reading the board. It does not buy a night. No night is included in the amount and no night is guaranteed.
Opening your home earns you nothing: no money, no credits, no discounts, and no right to be hosted by someone else. Money never passes between two members, in any form: not for the night, not for cleaning, not as expenses. If somebody asks you for money they are breaking the main rule, and we want to know.
The host decides whether to accept and owes nobody an explanation for a no. They can decline, they can change their mind before you arrive, they can close the room whenever they want. An accepted request is an agreement between the two of you, not a booking with us.
We are not part of the relationship between the host and the guest. We do not guarantee that the room is as described, that the person turns up, that the evening goes well. We do not mediate and we do not decide who is right. If you tell us what happened we can close a profile, but we cannot refund you a night and we cannot stand in for you.
You have to be 18 and you have to show that you are a musician: a diploma, a current enrolment, a contract, a concert programme. A person looks at the document. One account each, with your real name. If the details are false we close the account and the contribution does not come back.
Treat each other well, say so if your plans fall through, leave the house as you found it. Nocturne is not for making money: no rentals, no sublets, no commercial listings. You do not pick who to host by origin, religion, orientation or gender; opening the room only to people of the same gender stays possible, because it is about the safety of whoever lives in that house.
Cancel whenever you want, with one click in the settings and without calling anyone: you stay in until the end of the year you have already paid for and the renewal does not start. The right of withdrawal that the law gives you for distance purchases stays whole: we do not narrow it here and we do not ask you to give it up.
We rewrite them here and we change the date at the top. If the change touches something important we tell you by email before it applies.
